1:00 - 4:00 Opening Reception with fun activities. At 1:00 Spotlight Artist Mary Hogan will be giving a demonstration of the encaustic process. At 3:00 Mary will give an Art Talk, and at 4:00 she will be doing a giveaway of artwork for those who attended any part of the reception! There's also a giveaway for children!

Call for small interactive art project on Abingdon's Urban Pathway. The Depot Artists Association (DAA) is seeking artists or artist teams to design and install a small-scale interactive, outdoor public art exhibit. The exhibit should be designed to evoke a sense of curiosity among our community, engage art viewers/participants in such a way that will entice them to visit the exhibit again and again, and to share the experience with others. The art must be installed by June 15, 2024.

The art installation will be semi-permanent and will be placed along the urban pathway in Abingdon, Virginia, at a location yet to be decided. The budget is $3,000 and all expenses related to the artists’ time, equipment and supplies, and installation must be within the $3,000 allotted for the project.
