Peter Morgan

Peter is a native of Abingdon, and is currently the ceramics instructor at Gettysburg College, in Gettysburg PA. In this exhibition Peter makes his hometown debut with a site transformative installation of his ceramic sculptures. Since receiving his MFA in Ceramics from Alfred University in 2005, Peter has lectured and exhibited both nationally and internationally. In recent years Peter has taught at Gettysburg College and California State University; Long Beach. This past summer he completed a residency at the Archie Bray Foundation in Helena, MT.



Nancy Brittle
February 28 - April 17

Having spent nearly forty years juggling the life of a painter with that of private art lessons, writing about art, framing art, and working as a public school English and Art History teacher, Nancy is back in the art classroom in her native Fauquier County where she began. Working with high school students every day forces her to be current. A rigorous competition schedule in VA, DC, & MD shows her students how to continue to grow as a life long learner. Nancy’s paintings and drawings reflect her long journey and coming “home” in Virginia.

Seasons, Garden, and the Work of our Hands are the related themes that Abingdon’s Margaret Gregg is working with as she prepares for her Exhibit. Textile constructions and an installation that features hundreds of worn out garden gloves will give you lots to enjoy and ponder. Originally from Chicago and many years of work and learning in East Tennessee.



Duane Cregger
June 6 - July 16

Duane, an emerging contemporary artist, lives and works in the mountains of Virginia. His medium is oil on canvas. He often use a seemingly finished work as the underpainting for another piece, contributing to a deep layering of color, texture and emotion. Duane is influenced by the “historical styles of abstract expressionism, neo-abstraction, and formalism.” He "seeks to present the tension between states of constancy and new growth in abstract ways."

Mei Shu

Mei Shu’s subjects of paintings are mainly from floral, landscapes, foliage, and oriental themes. She specializes in watercolor and oil painting. Mei, a native of Shanghai, China, draws inspiration for many of her works, in particular, the village scenes from her native land. Mei’s artwork consistently wins Best-in-Show and First and Second Place awards in addition to Purchase awards in exhibitions across the country.



Jeff Chapman-Crane

Jeff is a self proclaimed “Appalachian Artist”. He is a life-long resident of the mountains of east Tennessee and southeast Kentucky and has a deep love & appreciation for the people, land, and culture. His realistic portraits & landscapes represent the mountain way of life with “dignity, understanding and compassion”. Jeff is the illustrator of the award winning children’s book “Ragsale” and his work has appeared in American Artist Magazine. His awards include “Best in Show” & “Peoples Choice” at the Virginia Highlands Festival Fine Arts Show.
