I work in a variety of media including watercolor, pastel, acrylic, and oil. My choice of media is dictated by subject matter, ranging from planned composition to improvisation and fantasy.

My early years were spent in a rich cultural environment reflecting interest in visual and performing arts. My art education consisted of private art lessons, in addition to the regular school curriculum. I continued my education majoring in history and art at the College of New Rochelle, New York. After a 20-year career as an elementary teacher in New York and Virginia, I resigned working fulltime in that field to resume a career as a full time artist. Since 1981 I have participated in area invitational and juried exhibitions and have had three one-woman exhibits, receiving several awards. I retain memberships in the Bristol Art Guild, Kingsport Art Guild, Depot Artists Association, and the William King Regional Arts Center.

I have portrayed the environment and persons who have impacted my life. My style is impressionistic and stylized when incorporating symbolic elements. My intention is to convey a sense of immediacy and emotional impact.
