Biography

A native of Naples, Italy, Gino Di Dio immigrated to the United States in 1978 after serving in the Italian Navy. Gino holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from The Technical Institute of Napoli, Naples, Italy. He has most recently attended classes at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Studio School in Richmond, VA. Gino is constantly striving, through research, formal classes and workshops, to “improve his grasp on the Old Master style of oil painting,” which is his signature style. Gino's artist statement reveals, "My paintings are meant to represent the warmth and love of those things we all hold close to us, bringing our cultures, with so many similarities, together as one; Life, celebration and death as represented in oil on canvas, Old Master style". Gino's work has been and is currently represented at fine art galleries in North Carolina, Louisiana, Virginia, New York and Italy.
