Clara Thomas

In Member's Showcase Gallery April 7 - June 2, 2018

Clara lives on a Revolutionary War land grant farm-Magna Vista Farm, near Bristol, Tennessee. Until 2007 she grew tobacco and had a cow-calf operation. Now she boards horses and provides riding lessons. Clara says that her art developed from “scenes that are part of my everyday life; mountains, streams, pastures, barns, horses and other animals.” Her paintings and prints are now in 22 states and 8 foreign countries. In addition to the Arts Depot her work may be found locally at the Tobacco Farm Life Museum in Kenley, North Carolina and Carl B. Jessee's Art and Frame Shop in Bristol, Tennessee. All of Cara’s paintings include the history of the scene and her biography on the back of Each piece.
